Bizzie lizzie seed pods

    funny little things.. like natures mexican 'one use only' jumping beans.. (sorry have to share my recent little discovery in the wonders of Mother Nature)

    scared the life out of me when I first came across an already burst one... they curl up and kinda sorta look like a fat green caterpiller (especially if you've got a 'thing' for icky creepy crawlies!) gave me cold shivers as my hand brushed over it..

    I guess the pod has evolved to spring open and distribute the seeds across larger area than if they were just to drop...

    great fun! better than bubble wrap!

    I would post a picture of them.. but I've popped all the ones I've got.. :D

    I recently discovered these as well, it really made me jump! Even the curled up pods look quite insectile. Great fun.

    I too have popped them for the fun of it - now are you gonna try trying and growing them again to see what comes up :D

    ...I just came across this so tried...what fun... now my little granddaughter is going in search of them. Fun!!!
