Black eggs under leaves - are they ants?

    Are these ants eggs which have appeared underneath the leaves on a couple of very young apple trees? There were a few ants crawling around under there as well.

    Actually on blowing it up it looks like there are aphids?

    Once I put my glasses on so I could actually see them, the plant was rife with what looked like aphids, so I pruned off the affected parts and they are now in the bin.

    Would like confirmation of what the critters are though.

    some tesco's are selling the 1 litre spray bottles

    There were only a few areas affected as the apple tree is very young (1 year old) so they have been pruned off and binned.

    Ants eggs are white Merleworld. :)

    The ants will be farming them like Moo Moos. They milk them for honeydew & protect them from predators like Ladybirds.
