Hello. I've inherited some lovely blackberry plants - very strong growing and the fruit is very large. I have alot of shoots with fruit on them but also a few shoots with no sign of flowers/fruit. These shoots seem stronger and thicker than the others. Should they be taken out or are they the shoots for next years berries?

All yer blackberry thinks about is taking over the planet, so those other shoots will be thinking about securing the immediate area against any other lifeform.

Best thing to do would be to take off & nuke the whole site from orbit, its the only way to be sure.

next years fruits will be on the new shoots. if you want to keep the plant best leave them alone. they do take over the planet though
