Just witnessed a rather strange site.
Our Cat (Mocat) laying in the conservatory well away from the outside door and we could hear this blackbird shouting at him. Thinking there may be trouble we ventured out there to see our mocat half asleep with the blackbird in the conservatory shouting at him.
    Blackbirds rule in our garden

    Hi Robert

Yes, blackbirds seem to very territorial in my garden too. I think a blackbird's song is just about the most beautiful thing to hear in a garden in springtime but wish they would stop trying to dig out my plants, in the pretence that they're looking for worms. They've nearly uprooted my dwarf beans on several occasions already. I'm sure it's just sport for them!

capney, I can just picture it,lol. They are cheeky birds aren't they?

flinty - yeah, it's a lovely sound. They are the first birds I hear if I'm up very early, not that I have that many different ones around here, but great to hear.

We recently barked around (lol, that doesn't sound right does it, I mean we put bark around:) ) the grass and kept thinking a cat had been in cos it was all over the grass. Then we saw the culprit - poor thing we also have plastic underneath so a bit of a wasted effort!

Also, we kept wondering how the bottom dish on our little fountain kept getting so low on water. We thought global warming was really coming into play:) Then, once again, we saw the culprit. Oh this bird has a wonderful bath in it! I wouldn't mind but we have a bird bath for them!!!

And.... windows cleaned outside on Thursday about 1 o'clock, by 2 o'clock there was bird **** on one. O/H said 'we feed them, water them and they **** on us', lol.

    cheers
