Blackcurrants

Just havested blackcurrants did not get as many as last year when I pruned them right down the previous year, has any one got any ideas as to why I cannot cut them right down now? they would have 3 months to grow new branches wouldnt they?

 

Rosie, when did you cut them down the year before last ? How soon after harvesting?

 

Senior moment ..I cannot remember think it was Nov.

 

No problem, when the fruit is ready to harvest, then cut them down. do that and rub your hand down the stem and you have harvested as well.:thumb:
