:gnthb: Fantastic pics Pal... You must have had a great time.... It is a place I have planned to go to on 2 occasions & both times stopped by things happening in the family.... Strange.. Still on my list of places to go though..!! I reckon I could struggle by with a back garden like that & the rose garden too... Beautiful, were there many scented ones..?? That is going to be magnificent too in a little while.....:yho: Thanks for sharing Pal..:thmb:

Looks awesome, but.......when we were on holiday down your neck of woods last year, we couldn't justify the price of the place. Didn't even have a decent national trust bargain.

Some lovely photos there, I particularly like the last photo of the roses. :thumb: We called in to Blenheim Palace last year and were very impressed with the grounds especially the kitchen garden which was outstanding.

One on my list to visit next time I pass through that part of the country. We were up in Northants then on to the Cotswolds for a weekend this time last year and passed through Woodstock on the way home. We would have loved to stop and visit, but as we were on the motorbikes, the thought of traipsing arund the house and garden in full biker leathers, carrying bags and helmets in the sort of heat we're having now was NOT appealing!

On a similar scale, if anyone is down in this part of the country, you have to visit Arundel Castle in West Sussex. Similar to Blenheim in many ways, in that it is still owned by the Fitzalan-Howards, Dukes of Norfolk and has the history to match. But very different as it's a castle! Try to go when the bedrooms are open to the public - a real treat and the gardens are superb :)
