I haven't come across this before, sorry if its old news.

    http://www.potato.org.uk/department/knowledge_transfer/fight_against_blight/index.html

click on the thumbnail map [on the right] for your part of the country

Only one reported case, so far, and that is in Southern Cornwall

You can also sign up for Emails warning of Smiths Periods at www.blightwatch.co.uk - and once registered you can view a nice graphic of risk, and a calendar of days on which Smiths Periods occurred - both this year and for the previous 5 years for comparison.

I've not seen that site before, I'll keep my eye on it. I believe from another site that there was a full Smiths declared a few days ago for the Maidstone, Kent area but it doesn't appear on this site?

I registered on BlightWatch a couple of days ago. This is what it shows for my postcode (East Anglia)

So early in the year! Sometimes I wonder if it's worth the worry and effort. :(

    "So early in the yea"

We've had two days during May for almost all of the last 5 years ... so don't despair too easily!
