At another clients today cut down the foliage on about 100 maincrop spuds and had to get rid of 8 large Gardeners Delight. All these plants were blight free yesterday.

All the more reason to get in with a spray before the problem starts.

    Completely agree with Pete.

I get blight EVERY bloomin year. This year, however, I've been spraying with Bordeaux mix every 2-3 weeks since late June and, despite a few full Smith Periods, there's not a sign of it.

    Get spraying, people!

Aha, now I know why my post disappeared! Well, we're in Bristol, and Daitheplant is in South East Wales and there is blight around. We don't have it yet but I don't want to lose my toms again to it so, do I go out and pick the whole lot and put them in brown paper bags. If the toms are too young, will this just finish them anyway, or will they ripen? Any thoughts very welcome.

    Liz

Liz, keep watching them. As soon as you see the first spot, remove the fruit, pull up the plants, and dispose of in the council bin.:gnthb: The plants, that is.
