It was about this time last year that "The Rains" came along with high humidity, and shortly afterwards "blight".

The main crop potatoes were completly useless, almost no crop and the few that I did lift were very small in size!

We again have have had very heavy rain for some days, but also strongs winds, and little humidity.

So far my potato foilage has remained very clean, no nasty brown marks, so I keep hoping I might miss it with luck!
Has anyone else out there been infected this year?

    Cheers !!!

MB,I spotted this plant on a plot three up from ours over at the allotment the other week so took a photo to show people what Blight looks like which is in the first photo

And this is one of our potato plants that looks like it has the start of it.They were all planted as fresh certified seed potato's as they are each year and were ok until we had the recent heavy rains.I usually leave mine, because I have found in the past if I move the foliage to cut them down or to weed the rows then the spoors would drop down into the soil and we would get no crop.
After harvesting which won't be long if it is the blight we destroy the haulms{greenery} by burning them.

Been clear this year, thanks heavens. First time I'd come across it last year, the foliage wasn't too bad but the sight of a freshly dug potatoe turning into a mush almost as I looked at it was not nice.
