Just to warn everybody, I pretty certain that the dreaded blight has appeared on one of my tomato plants. Have moved it out of the garden and am now off to spray everything with fungicide :(

I have lost all my tomato plants this weekend . I must admit to shedding a tear. I grew them all from seed and I have cut off the foliage but I don't think I'll be able to salvage much. I have been growing them outside in the garden soil.

    What a shame Louise.

Sterile; where-abouts do you live? Also are you sure it's blight - a photo will help us idenity it.

I will post a picture as, on closer inspection, I'm not sure what has taken this plant. The leaves and stems look green and healthy but the fruits are going brown from the base up :(

    I am in Surrey.

Are your plants in a greenhouse or outside?

The leaves always get hit first by blight then it transfers to the fruit at a later stage - what you are describing doesn't sound like blight. It is possibly blossom end rot caused by dry conditions - how often are you watering?

Agreed, doesn't sound like blight. I've lost my outdoor toms to blight for the last two years, and I have the Bordeaux Mixture ready and waiting. If I get an incline that it's in my area, then I guess I'll have to apply it, but for now I'm holding off. My outdoor toms are actually cropping ! :)

    Cheers...freddy.
