I notice that whereas with forum posts, the author can delete, edit etc. In Blogs, once a blog is submitted, then that's it.

I have to be honest, I haven't really taken anything to do with blogs, but I assume that they are designed a bit like Twitter where you make your post/statement, and once it is submitted, that is it?

To be honest, I don't even know if we as Admin could edit or delete blog entries, as it is not something I have ever looked into. Maybe one of the others might know - @ARMANDII, @Marley Farley, @Zigs, @wiseowl, @shiney

Sorry, I have no idea. :dunno:

Not only do I know nothing about blogs on here, I don't do blogs nor Twitter, Facebook or any of the 'social media'. Gardening, bridge, friends, holidays and voluntary work take up all my time. :)

@Mike Allen Generally a blog is like a diary in that it contains one persons doings. thoughts, ruminations and ideas. On GC the blog section is little used and some of the entries appear to be misplaced in that they ask for input about id or pests.
I can see the bit you wish to edit, but don't why you can't perhaps an admin may be able to help.

@Mike Allen I read on line blogs but have only recently learnt how to leave a comment because I never had a Google account and one blogger put up the instructions on how to do it without the Google account:biggrin:

From what I can make out once you have submitted your written comment and posted it then realise you have made a spelling mistake or your tablet has changed what you have written then that is that and you can’t go back and edit it.I have found on blogs that if that is the case then the commentor has made another new comment underneath rectifying their mistake in the first comment.

When Insomia kicks in and I can’t sleep then I usually spend some time downstairs catching up with blogs I read on a regular bases and I love the fact that I can read about people’s gardens, bird visitors and animals to their gardens and places the bloggers visit whilst on their travels.I can now comment on people’s blogs when they have a plant/insect/butterfly they can’t identify. As Mr Kandy refuses to fly or travel on big ships I know I am never going to get to New Zealand so reading NZ blogs gives me my fix lol.

PS,as Woo says only the blog owner has the tools to delete any messages they don’t agree with as they get a lot of spam and troll comments which they have to trawl through each day to get rid of

@Mike Allen - I saw the comment you left, and have edited your blog accordingly, also removing the comments as they are now redundant.

Lovely blog post, if I may say so, and only underlines for me how little care is taken of our parks and gardens nowadays.

If you require any assistance editing in future, just give one of us a shout.

I have just read your blog Mike and it is well written and so nice to see what you managed to achieve until you had to give it all up in 1984 and as you say it is hard going when you lost the love of your life so tragically:sad:

I also had a quick look at a couple of other blogs on this forum and notice that a couple of bloggers have just asked a question on their blog which no one has answered.Perhaps if the bloggers had asked the question on the main forum site they might have got an answer to their problem, but then again they might have and I have missed it:scratch:

I always thought that a blog on his forum was a record of how they get on with their gardens and allotments etc and how they get stuff to grow and how they keep weeds and pests at bay.

I've never looked at any blogs on here (didn't know we had them  - so it's obvious I don't look at the top of each page ) but have now looked at yours and like it. I wish you all the best.

Thank you all for your kind comments. As Nigel says, a blog is like a diary, and that is how I see it. I consider it a means by which we can share our days and interest with friends. So hopefully, I'd like to share some things from my life since 1984.
