    Hello All,

Well the weather does play havoc with the best laid plans I know. In London at least the weather seems to be warmer winter and summer and the past number of years things bloom generally earlier than they should have found. Winters seem quite brief. My flowering currant bloomed Dec/Jan/Feb this year.

But having said that ... it seems like both my Kniphofia and Crocosmia 'Lucier' will probably start flowering in the next few weeks, the kniphofia possibly earlier. Both are 'autumn' bloomers Aug/Sept .... supposedly. So extraordinarily early in my books even though my garden is a south-facing suntrap and very sheltered.

    Anyone experiencing the same thing?

    cheers

    Hi biker,

Strangely I have the opposite 'problem'. Last year I photographed the garden from the same four angles each month, and so have been comparing the same plants this year as the months pass. This time last year my Dahlia 'Freak Of Nature' was flowering, as was Delphiniums & Lily 'Little John', to name a few, as yet these aren't flowering this year. Our Red Hot Poker has 2 spikes though ;)

Mother Nature and climate change combined makes for a confused gardener :o

    Regards, Beki.

Nice collection Mr C, which is the smallest variety of crocosmia.

"Red hot pokers" and montbreesia both finished flowering now. I've cut them all back and tidied themup for the winter. Must be the Sunny South.:)
Just noticed. Loads more "Smilies" Thankyou.

I love crocosmias and have two in my garden ... dark red 'Lucifer' which gets taller every year ! and a smaller orange one - but I would love to have a yellow one - can't find one anywhere .... Val
