Hya folks, on the build again hahaha :D
After building the House Sparrow terrace, I had some small off cuts of plywood left over.
I had planned on making some more nest boxes and the off cuts were almost perfect for building the Blue Tit nest box.
When I say almost perfect I mean it was 5" wide were as I planned to make it 6", hopefully will be no prob.

The lid fits tight as I made 2 pieces of timber exact to the inside length of the box and angled the ends to match the pitch of the roof.
There was a tiniest of gaps on the back edge so made a screw block on the inside of the lid which will have a single screw in the back of the box to keep it held down tight.
The base has just 2, 6mm drain holes front and back just in case, although I doubt anything will get in.

The box has 2 of those mirror hanger thingy bobs, was gonna have 1 but I reckon itle be better with 2.
These are just screwed to a piece of 2x1" timber, I also put a pitch on the wood so no water wouldn't rest on top, the small block of weed at the bottom is purely to keep the box flat against the shed with no tipping forward.

After a sanding, coat of PVA inside and out and a good dose of forest green shed paint, the box is done and up on the shed.

Next jobs, a great tit box and a open fronted robin box :D

Thanks John, it will be next year now before they use to nest, although it may get used in the winter months for shelter.
