If you're planning to join the hordes who'll be trooping around Sissinghurst Garden this Spring, don't forget to have a wander around the lakes and the woods which surround the formal garden. Last year, the carpet of bluebells in the woods was as spectacular as anything in the garden and the smell was amazing. Best of all, we were the only people there ...

Just follow the queue, wiseoldowl! :lollol: Not really, it's generally OK. The path to the lakes and woods is by the National Trust giftshop - if I remember rightly it's signposted. It can get a little mucky underfoot if we've had lots of rain - I once saw a lady trying to do the woodland walk in stilettos on a dank day. Not a pretty sight. Sissinghurst now has its own vegetable garden which you can also wander around.
