    Hi,

During the summer noticed one of the potted Blueberries had sent up a very tall shoot, about 8ft, which I trimmed back to 5ft.

Seem to remember the leaves were no different to the other plants, so just thought it was a very happy plant - variety Spartan.

Just been removing them for repotting, this plant being right at the back and could now see that its a totally different trunk.

Most of its growth must have been put on last summer as sure I would have noticed it before then, and it must like the very acid conditions and water I give them.

Wonder if its an alien plant or a very large sucker if they are grown on root stocks ?

Yeah and I'd take a stab at which one.

Have you got any pics @ricky101 of it last summer?

            Hi,

We do get Sycamore seedlings, but their leaves are quiet distinctive and would have stood out against the Blueberries, no pics of them during summer.

It could not have been more than the 2f high than the Blues were at the beginning of the year so it must have put on at least 6ft last summer.

Just that with so many long laterals , heavy with new buds, wondered if it was some other fruit.

Will perhaps put it in its own pot and see what it does just out of interest.

Yeah, well I spose the goat willow leaf is most like a blueberry leaf, which could have caused a bit of confusion ..... mind you I am very very easily confused anyway.
