Ok so I embarked on some deforestation today to restore Bananamans hideout to its pre heatwave glory. I haven't done ANYTHING out there for at least 4 weeks and I was in danger of losing friends and family. Its a funny time in the garden as things end and are cut back for a possible second flush, I think there is still enough to get excited about but i think I am going to invest in some more flowering evergreens next year.

Very nice....... I hope I shall be posting similar this time next year......

What is the pretty long purpley-pinky flower in your last post of the back????

.... I have a delivery from Crocus arriving on Tuesday - along with some ex-display pots of goodies from Chelsea!!!! Some really stunning architectural flowers in there too!

I know you want year round interest, but what about a handful of long-flowering perennials? When I look for plants, I steer away from those with short flowering periods. Also, what about some spring/ early bulbs?

Hey, BM, is that cool, or is that cool? I was wondering where you've been ... but do I remember you saying you're on "holiday" this week, e verdade?

I don't recognise that arch .. is it new? or have I not been paying attention lately?

Whatever, all looks ACE, and I'm jealous because we're a bit brown-ish here at the mo and will be for a few months to come, and I'm heave-ho-ing those watering cans around (should lose a kilo or two, hopefully!) [IMG]

Anyway, loving it sunshine ... [IMG]

Hello Honey Bee and LoL, nothing new construction wise, arch was probably more full of roses last time I posted.

HBee if you mean this it is eucomis 'pineapple lily' just summoning up the will to flower [IMG]

 [IMG] Absolutely gorgeous BM. So lush & inviting..! They say one of the most relaxing things to do is to just sit & enjoy the movement of the green leaves.... [IMG] Well you can certainly do that there..... Really nice BM..!!

Thanks MF and GW, you two are so good at photographing bugs. I have loads of buzzing wildlife that are way too quick for me. I was lucky with the bee, he seemed to be having a snooze. I stuffed a full wheelie bin with foliage!!!

Hi wildflower, yes I keep and eye on their site.

The photo is of my Arisaema ciliatum fruiting. I assume it will dry up eventually and produce some seeds but despite loving them I know very little about them.
