Well whilst I had the ladder out to cover the tree ferns for tonights predicted frost , I decided to have another go with the night focus on my camera. The significance of the ladder is I used it as a tripod as the focus takes 5 seconds to capture the image, meaning any movement blurs the shot completely.

I was quite pleased with the results. [IMG]

And my flowering banana is still safe and sound all tucked up in the heated bananahouse...

They are lovely, Babe, except not so keen on the last one, but each to their own.

Predicted frost tonight????? I thought you were hot today ... your weather, that is?

    xx

The last one was always going to be blurred taken through two layers of hazy PVC. But its good to know he's alright in there. Yes clear skies, means sunny in the day but cold and frosty at night. It is supposed to be 16 degrees this weekend, positively summertime [IMG]

Hi Dave, yes the first one is my favourite. I thought it looked like the garden was in doors !

The first one is my favourite. It would be the place to sit on a hot summer day, with a breeze just moving the bamboo enough to make a soft rustle.

Hi BM, great night time shots. [IMG]

Is the hand-shaped palm leaf in your pics the same plant as this one? it was taken in The Gambia a couple of years ago and you can just see my husband at the bottom. I don't know what the plant is but it's only 16 years old, so if yours is the same, this is what you have to look forward to :D

Thanks everyone, looking forward to repeating the exercise amoungst the summer growth ! And a better night shot of the banana flowering.

Blackthorn, I want I want I want that palm. [IMG] Can you imagine that in the garden  Is your husband a pygmy ? or is that palm that huge ! Mine is just a Trachycarpus, that is much snazzier ! I must go and see if I can identify it. Not that I expect it would be cold hardy. :(

Husband not a pygmy BM :D I would be interested to know what it is too if you can find out.
It would certainly look good in your garden, perhaps fill it completely! :D
