Lovely photos and colours, Palustris. Thank you for sharing them. I obviously don't get such striking leaf colours this far south so it's a treat for me! [IMG]

    That's lovely, Palustris!
I've never been to Bodnant, although I really ought to one of these days. Is it North Wales? I could maybe fit it in with a Bluegrass Festival in Conwy in July.....

Since it is in Conwy, or as close as makes no odds, then fitting in a visit should be no bother Dend. We are lucky enough to be able to go about once every month that it is open, there is always something to see.

    That's handy!

I've probably passed signs to it often, without noticing, or just subconsciously filing it as being in that area....

Isn't Portmerion round there too? I seem to remember Mum talking about going there when she had a holiday in that area.....

That is a bit further west than that, but reachable from Conwy and a beautifully scenic road too!
Also worth checking out if you are in the area is Aberconway Nurseries, especially if you are into alpines and even more so Gentians!

Great Autumn pictures Palustris of one of my favourite gardens of all time. My late wife and I visited Bodnant about eight times over the years and watched it grow and develop.

We brought back a Eucryphia Nymansensis and a Viburnum X bodnantense as 'trophies' of Bodnant and both are doing very well here in Larbert and they are great reminders of our visits.

While October is superb I still prefer Bodnant in spring when rhododendrons, magnolias and camellias dominate and, of course, the spectacular laburnum arch from mid-May to early June (55 feet long I seem to remember).

    Thanks for the memories.
