I have some bogwood to go in my tropical tank for my GoldRing Hillstream Loach, Sucking Loach and Plec but its still releasing tannins. Ive been soaking it in boiling water for a couple of weeks and keep changing it every day, Im at the point of just shoving it in my tank but I HATE the tea coloured water. ... What else can I possibly do! :gaah:

I wouldn't think the Tannic acid would do the fish much good either Kayleigh. Was it sold to you by a pet shop or did you dig it up from the fens?

I have got it from a pet shop but I don't think it has been treated but they reccomeneded soaking it. I've been looking on fish forums and it's says the tannins are harmless to fish but over a long period of time it can lower the PH but you get tea coloured water which I hate ... :(
