Hi, can anyone id this bonsai plant for my niece please. Based in Stratford upon Avon, someone bought it for her as a gift but it came without a label.
Thank you

I'd hazard a guess at some kind of gardenia, do the flowers have a scent?

I have edited trimmed original images to try and see detail.... see below.

Wasn't happy re Gardenia...so did a bit more research.
Pic 2 shows obvious stamens and long female parts.
Behind the petals the spiky calyx.
If you zoom in some of the leaves appear to be interesting shape....see smaller pic...and 2nd link
Fabulous and glossy.
I believe it is Carmona sp...common name Fukien tea tree.
See links

Carmona (plant)

My pleasure!
More detective work!
Not a plant I know.
It looks super, so very healthy.
Now your niece can look up how to give it TLC it wants.

Do hope she gets the red berries.

Ahh, berries as well. She will be a very happy bunny if her plant has those.
Thanks again S.
