Hi, oktarine. I'm a Bonsai fan of 15 years at least and I believe Liz (?) one. Other than than we have only had two questions relating to Bonsai and they were both within the last couple of weeks.

I would say no and the questions go into Other Plants ... exotics, etc.

What is the best flowering bonsai you can get?

Hello, azadnaman. There's Punica (pomegranate) and Azalea! Or Crataegus (Hawthorn) or any of the flowering Prunus species. Each person will have their own favourite, but all are beautiful.

I had a wonderful Cotoneaster for many years but sadly lost it a couple of years ago (due to neglect on my part, I hate to say).

We have a Bonsai centre here with specimens hundreds of years old costing many thousands. They even have a "bonsai hospital" service as well as a "holiday service" looking after your ailing plants or caring for them when you are on holiday.

The hospital sounds great! I always worry about mine when I'm away!

    Evening Mel.

For the three years we to-ed and fro-ed from the IoW to here till we gave up and set roots here, we carefully boxed mine up and they travelled with us like the cats in a very pampered environment! How weird is that, I ask?

Hawthorn sounds like a good choice
There is a beautiful pink hawthorn which would be a wee bit classy as a bonsai
Here is a pic of mine a few days ago [IMG]

Lol you would probably be better off with the berries they grow quite easily.

Any berries going? [IMG] I've just split up my unidentified Azalea and there were two stems and trimmed and potted one up as a bonsai, so I'm looking forward 1) to not killing it off before next Spring and 2) to seeing if it blooms for me.

Thank you so much, whis4ey. That would be wonderful ... I'm not very good with cuttings ... or seeds for that matter! Roots would be preferable! [IMG]
