I hope this is the right forum for Bonsai questions -

From a horse chestnut that a very kind squirrel buried in my lawn I have started growing the tree as a bonsai. This is my first attempt at bonsai and although the leaves look a bit jaded at the moment, it seems to have adapted.

My question is: can I grow this on as a bonsai indoors or do I have to leave it outside, even through the winter?? Any tips on what I need do from now on will be appreciated. Also, do I keep nipping out new leaves? There seems to be a large bud about to break out between the two branch axis - new growth?

It will need to be outdoors. There are only a few trees that are suitable for indoors and even they do better if they go outdoors in the summer.
As it is a new little tree just leave it to grow this year. Remember that it will lose it leaves soon so don't assume it has died. Water is the big thing here. A little water every single day.
What soil have you got it in? A free draining soil is important to Bonsai.
I have quite a large collection now and the most important thing is patience. :)
