. . . at WHSmith. There has been a general buy one get one half price sale at WHSmith but still the books have been too expensive for me. I usually shop at Amazon. BUT, today I picked up the RHS flower and plants encyclopedia down from £35 to £7.99. Now I call that a bargain. AND, then I bought the Gardeners World book down from £14.99 to £5.00. AND, the World at Kew Gardens down from £18.95 to £5.00. NOW, because of the buy one get one half price offer I got those 2 books for £7.50.
The books are not everyones cup of tea but historical books about all things Gardeners World and Kew Gardens are right up my street. And c'mon you can't sniff at the RHS book for £7.99. :)
Might be worth you making a visit ?

I brought the RHS book at Christmas for the same price. It really is a good book, I have spent many hours perusing the pages.

You could have got those books even cheaper if you'd downloaded and printed out this £5 off when you spend £15 pounds on books @ WHSmith voucher. Valid to 30th June.

When I bought some books and used mine last week they gave me a 15% off at Homebase voucher with a long expiry date.

The WH Smith vouchers in my post above expire on 30th June. Here's some more, but unfortunately they expire on 1st July, only one day later but the £5 off a £10+ book might be more useful than the £5 off £15 on books one above:

£5 off any ONE book OVER £10 Which may prove frustrating as their books tend to be priced at £9.99, but would get you £5 off a £14.99 book unlike the previous voucher.

£5 off £15 spend on most stuff (including books) Which would enable you to get £5 off a £14.99 book if you also bought a cheap pencil with it.

P.S. When I recently bought some books in WH Smiths using some of their vouchers I got both of the ones above print out on the till receipt, except they had longer expiry dates.

We seem to have an active Swappage scheme here.
About 6 of us who read crime thrillers etc. have been passing books round for several years. No-one seems to buy many (I can recall buying 4 and received 3 for Xmas) but there seems to be 100's doing the rounds.
At this moment in time I have about 20 I've read and a similar number to reach yet.
I recently handed 50+ to a charity shop and 20 on to one of the group.
There seems to be a never ending supply doing the rounds.
You get good value out of a good book:dbgrtmb:
