It looks like I've got a few small minor (at present) spots of grey mould or botrytis on some of my cucumber leaves.
Once up a time I would have given them a spray with Carbendazim in the form of Benlate. However Carbendazim appears to be have been withdrawn due to potential health risks.

Does anyone know of any current sprays available to the gardener to combat botrytis on food crops? I've looked in a couple of GCs without success and also searched the www.

Not sure Dave. I use Bravo fungicide for botrytis on polyanthus and pansies comercially but not for food crops. :( A lot of chemicals have been withdrawn that I used which makes control harder. I used to use Benlate years ago too. [IMG]

    Thanks Strongy.
I've just been doing a bit more scrabbling around the www.
Some suggestions I've found include -

#Copper fungicide - I'd rather not use this on food crops though.
    #Spraying with calcium chloride.
#Spraying with milk in various dilutions - won't cure but is claimed to reduce spread.
    # A natural bacteria that feeds off the oxalic acid that botrytis produces to to weaken cell walls. Again no cure but a 20% to 70% reduction claimed. This is still under development.

I think I'll give the milk a try.
