My Bottle Brush tree seems to have suffered this winter, with all leaves looking autumn brown and no signs of shoots.

How can I try to revive it, would severe pruning back until green bark appears (if any) be the answer?

Is there any chance of a picture? To make a better diagnosis.

If your Bottle brush is brown all over it may be too far gone this would suggest to me it is Callistemon Citrinus Splendens or a similar cultivar which is not fully hardy. A pic would help.

I 've had one die on me this year, not sure what species it was as I grew it from a packet of mixed seed .

Take a small slither of bark off with a pen knife, if its brown underneath its dead, do this further and further down the stem until you find it showing green.
