Can anyone help myself in relation to my hedging that has turned yellow.I planted these bare-rooted hedges last Sept.I dug a good 12" deep mixed compost with soil and fead with bone-meal.These hedges are almost 16" high, but over the cold snap they have turned yellow.I have contacted seller he is hopeful they will recover,he recommmended to cut 2" from them.I have completed this but cannot see any difference on there appearance as of yet.Is there anything that I can do? or can any you nice people help.

Sit and wait I'm afraid ...

There is a nasty box disease called "Box Blight", (RHS link) but I think that is more prevalent on the dwarf variety (Suffruticosa I think?) and if yours are 16" tall I doubt they are the dwarf variety - unless you paid a fortune for them!

It will do no harm to apply a high nitrogen liquid feed like Phostrogen or miracle grow, this will give a boost to the box and encouradge new growth.

Box is a particularly nutrient hungry plant and benefits from regular feeding anyway.
