I pass a few ( ... :roflol: ) bramble bushes on my walks with Ozzy and I'm keeping a mind map of where they are so I can get in some productive foraging when they are ripe.

Now, in the main, the blossom I've seen is white - and quite a good size too; but, on a different route yesterday, the blossom is pink (not as pale as candy floss, but, not a strong pink either).

So, I'm wondering ... does the humble wild bramble come in different "varieties", then?

Or, am I confusing the two blossoms and only one is bramble and the other is ... ? :noidea:

You'm right, there's over a thousand sub varieties of Rubus fruiticosus :)

      Crikey! Thanks Zigs.

Oh, before I go ... could you tell me which two, of the thousands, I've spotted on my walk (from my description, please)

                        Actually, that's a corker ...

.... I've seen the Ozmeister cock his leg in the bramble direction ;)
Crate it is then (but don't tell the anti-crate brigade  )

Also ask the owner if it's ok to pick them, as some one i used to know, didn't like a person picking HIS blackberrys, so he used to spray them with some waste water (yellow water) :mute:

Barney and I were picking in a huge field once.

2 Indian chaps came over right next to us and started picking the same bush, talking to them selves, didn't even look at us...

When they've filled their hands they came over and put the Blackberries in our bag :)
