    Hi,

    I have a rat run behind my Fence it is about 2ft wide between my fence and the fence form the other house, tall Brambles grow there, my current attack plan is wait until they pop up above the fence line then cut the buggars but during summer they come back just as quick, is there a better way of getting rid please? One day I may expand my garden into this area.

    Ta

    Thank you NigelJ, is this safe to use in close proximity to my other plants?

    @Conbrue
    I would be careful using it near other plants. It is a total weedkiller and remains active in the soil for a week to 10 days after application. It is absorbed through both the foliage and the roots.
    It can spread sideways in the soil. I applied it to the foliage rather than the soil to reduce this.
    As your brambles are between fences if you spray carefully getting it mainly on the foliage I suspect you will be alright and collateral damage will be minimal.
    If you have anything especially precious against the fence I would be especially careful.
    Nigel

    I've found roundup works, perhaps not a total killer, but you only need one application per year.

    And it doesn't affect the soil.
