Any idea what is wrong with these bramleys? Had a real issue with them last year-thought it was because there were so many close together then they were going rotten but it doesnt seem that is the case!

I'm wondering if bordeaux mixture would help. Have big fungus problems here-roses, peach leaf curl, now apples.

Yes. Bordeaux mixture can be used against downy mildew, scab, fruit leaf curl and canker.

You can buy commercially-available Bordeaux mixture at better nurseries, usually sold under a name resembling “Brand-Name Fungicide”. You can also make your own, but the raw ingredients are not readily available in smaller, home-garden quantities. Because the materials themselves can be somewhat hazardous to work with, If you visit the UC Davis IPM website it has the recipe and safe handling instructions.

                It’s sold as

                Vitax Bordeaux Mixture 175g
                €4.95

 Surely you can’t sell something that’s not what it says it is :nonofinger:

Well maybe you can in Ireland, to be honest I dont know, but true Bordeaux mixture appears, according the the RHS, to be banned by the EU.
