Brian Cox's BBC TV programmes have been good, but this lecture to school students at Manchester Uni is utterly brilliant. If you would like to understand when and how the universe was formed and why Einstein's theory of general relativity (1915) is important for your Sat Nav, or would like to know about the billions of neutrinos passing through your thumb, and more, watch this.
    What a brilliant teacher!!!

      Thanks for that Dave:blue thumb:

Both Mr Kandy and myself love watching all his programmes although a lot of it is a bit to heavy for my blonde brain:biggrin: It is thought that he might take over from the great David Attenborough{sp}when he retires, and we think he is the best man for the job:smile:

What I don't get with Bri is that he isn't very old. I'd guess he's younger than me. How on earth has he crammed that much knowledge and understanding into his head in such a short time I wonder.

EDIT: Apparently he is 6 years older than me. Great, that gives me 6 years to learn the secrets of the universe and then I'll have one up on him:loll:

I think he's terrific! He always has a smile on his face even when he isn't actually smiling and his obvious enthusiasm and love for his subject is infectious. I could watch him for hours!

              Thanks for that!

I too find him very watchable - he's a bit like a kiddie in a sweet shop once he gets going on his subject and that is both engaging and infectious.
