Well whilst out walking my dog this morning I was walking past my favorite garden that I always look longingly at. It is on a lane in the middle of woodland. The owner turned up in his car and I said what a fabulous garden you have - well he invited me in to have a look! It is in the yellow book but they only do groups by appointment - there first day is this Friday. Well it is over 2 acres and absolutely fabulous - I got a private tour and we talked about all the plants. What a nice man - I am going to bob a thankyou note in the post tonight. The dog pood as soon as we left there - thank goodness he kept it in whilst we walked around :)

    This is the garden http://www.ngs.org.uk/GardenInfo.asp?jhkhkykkklkujjjeiximikinitim

The photos don't do the scale or garden justice.

That's lovely, ellie ... you must have been in seventh heaven having your own private tour. What a fabulous house and gardens.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thanks Ellie, that garden looks lovely and is not far from Harrogate. I must look in the yellow book. If they are in it, it implies that they have open days.

I didn't realise you were so close - do call in if you ever find yourself in Harrogate. But I am afraid that my garden is tiny and is no match.

Thanks for the lovely offer Peter! Yes they are in the yellow book, but I think they just do appointments for groups of 10 plus. you could always drop them a line. (or get together 10 mates!) :)

I know, I would have died if he had gone on the lawn - it was so perfect!
