    Hi all
My first batch of Broad beans seem to have come to a halt. They have loads of flowers but are not producing any pods. (Flowers that have fallen off have left behind a 'spike').
They were sown in Jan under cover and planted out in March where they appeared quite happy.
The photo shows their state as of last week.

Any ideas where I've gone wrong (first year attempting BB's)?

Is there any way you could take a photo of the bean spike close up please as they are too far away to be able to see the problem.

The flowers normally drop off and then a bean starts to develope in its place which then grows to a size ready for picking.

You could also try giving them plenty of water because due to the dry weather we are having of late.

Are your beans a winter variety or the spring ones as we are harvesting the winter ones now but won't be having any spring ones ready for a few weeks yet.

Do keep us informed as to how things go with them:)
