If it's a tight cluster of leaves it could be the flowers forming Georgecat.

I would give them a feed - Tomorite or similair, helps promote the new growth.

My Bunyard Exhibition BB's are about 3' tall now, and still getting curling leaves at the top, I water daily, and feed once a week.

Check out the pics on my blog.

I only water my beans with a high potash fertilizer when they are in flower or the pods are swelling.

    Early watering encourages leafy growth.

they are supposed to be like that at the top. pinch them out when they have attained the required height to prevent black fly

Good point sawfish. But do you mean an excess of leaf as opposed to flower and bean formation?

While on the subject, my beans are about 1 mtr high with about 8 trusses, as they are earlys my instinct is to nip them out now, but I am reluctant as there is no sign of the black fly. The ground has been well prepaired, manure growmore ect but have never usualy fed as they grew and have always had a good crop.
There must be a limit to the amount of beans the plant can sustain. Shouls I nip them or feed them?
