Great! I love 'em too. I find broad beans come ready about the same time as globe artichokes and go well together topped with a bit of fried black pudding. That's Saturday lunch sorted.

My broad beans are looking very healthy, and are flowering now. This is my first attempt, when can I expect the beans to start showing and then when can I pick them. The same advice with my peas please, though they have only just started to flower. I am truly on a learning curve. Thanks Barb.

I know that's true of uncooked red kidney beans. They can make anybody extremely ill. According to Wikipedia, raw broad beans will only adversely affect people taking certain drugs, or with certain conditions.
