    hi guys and gals. :)

whilst pottering tonight, i noticed that one of my phoenix palms has started to brown. its not one leaf/stem, but is quite uniform all over.

its planted in the ground, with a good compost and free draining soil on the sandy side. its been in for around 4 weeks, along with 2 others that i've planted (which are fine)

any ideas on whats causing it? its been watered every night except when its been persisting down, so its not been allowed to dry out.

thanks in advance for the advice.

I find, usually with palms, they react slowly, so I'm guessing its likely to be something that happened a few weeks or months ago.

Id hold off on the watering, if you have had rain like we have and the ground is wet.

One other question, have you recently bought these?

    A picture might help.

cheers Pete for the reply, i bought them around a month ago.

they are not waterlogged, as the soil even in weeks of rain isn't too wet.

i'll post a pic tomorrow to show you.

    ta again, Al.

I thought they might be new purchases, just wondering how used they are to out lousy outdoor conditions.
On the other had it could be sun scorch from the warm spell a week or more ago.
