Brownsea again, good for Red Squirrels this month and Winter waders are arriving.

I had hoped to see one of the two Great White Egrets which have been here for a few weeks and we were lucky enough to see one right in front of the hide. The Spoonbills behind frequently rest on one leg giving them an odd comical look.

This pic shows the difference in size compared to the Little Egret next to it and the dagger like yellow beak.

Two Greenshanks although they never came close enough to see their green legs.

Avocets, so far about 300 but by January probably 1500, some more of the 20 resting Spoonbills in the background.

To fast in flight for a sharp pic with my camera.

    Young Sika Deer.

Red Squirrels busy feeding and storing food, mainly beech mast.
