Final visit this year as it closes to the public next Monday.
The birds were long way out, particularly the Great White Egret which stayed by the back of the lagoon all day. The Spoonbills didn't move either!

Half of the Spoonbills seem to prefer Arne RSPB a few hundred yards away to the lagoon so there were only about 20 here.

Redshank were a bit closer and one was heavily ringed and flagged.

Greenshanks were only showing one leg!

Brownsea Island has many ancient trees and this one was one of the oldest.

I was going to go over to Brownsea Island when I went to Poole in May :)
              I haven't been since I was a Scout/Cub.
Not really a bird fan (unless it's a Robin :) ), but I do like a Squirrel or a nice Beaver.
Maybe one day I will get to shoot one. I recall going to a park up near Nottingham/Grantham way, and their were loads running about up there.

@NorthantsGeezer, October is the best time as the Beech nuts were falling and they prefer them to acorns, we saw about 20 some in two's and three's.

We went for a walk around Baiter Park by Poole Quay this afternoon and Brownsea Island, opposite, was very misty and dark.
