Is there any way save my brussell sprouts plants from the caterpillars which are munching the life out of them? I had a net covering them but it came loose from the wall and the cabbage whites must have managed to get in, what can I do at this stage? If I tried to remove all I can see and give the plants a good hose down or something? Any advice?

The best way if you have the time is to look under the leaves once or twice a week and you will see clusters of yellow eggs, just wipe them off.

As well as rubbing off the eggs pick off and dispose of the caterpillars.

Weed the plants well so its just soil under them, remove eggs daily, check for caterpillars daily and dispose. Then grasp the stem of the sprouts and give 'em a damn good shake, you'll see them fall off and can easily spot and deal with fallen caterpillars on the weed free soil...even then you wont get them all.

Its a battle and I lost all mine last year, this year they are netted and will remain so until the frosts.
