Last autumn I was twice to Brussels and, being on a tight schedule, had made up my mind to visit whatever 'botanical' was nearest. :D

Fortunately, the old Jardin Botanique was just 10 minutes walk from the hotel, entrance is free and I literally forgot about time, walking every corner of it with my camera, paper and pen. I was happy I could recognise plants I have seen only in pictures and some others I had identified with the help of Bulgarian forum mates upon return.
It was late in September and the gardens seemed to have long passed their time of lavish bloom, but I enjoyed the ensembles, the statues, the rose hips and even a group of about twenty crazy school kids in fluorescent vests, who were supposed to be educating themselves, but kept throwing gravel at each other. :WINK1:
Here are some shots from the place:

We only had half a day in Brussels, on our way back from Bruges, so never got a chance to have a really good look around, Didn't know about the Botanical Gardens Angelina, thanks for sharing.

I was also in Bruges, then France, then back to Belgium,

No time either lol Had to get back on the boat. It was a Christmas beer trip.

        Fantastic shots, many thanks Angelina!

        Love the water feature!

Thank you. I'm glad you like it. :)

I believe it's really worth visiting in the active vegetation season because they maintain it. I was there once again in late October and I could see that the red pennisetums have been lifetd and musas were protected for the winter. I also noticed that some hardy perennials were missing, but instead primulas and bellis were freshly planted to ensure a carpet of blossom in early spring.

I had an Idea Angelina what 'Bellis' are but went to look all the same because I never have grown those, seen them at 'Homebase though. I had a lovely display of yellow Primulas last year they looked really nice in a pot.

I wish I had gone into Homebase yesterday..should have they will probably have spring stock in now.

I see you have two water features, both nice but the main one is the favorite..:dancy:

          Bellis perennis are daiseis. :)
These two varieties come from my place.

And primullas look far more attractive outside the pot. :D
          I bought these potted:

          And these come from seed:

In autumn, all there was in the Brussels garden were rosettes of leaves.

I'm glad you enjoy the water feature, here's some more of it: :)

Oh, I agree Angelina but I have no garden at the front...:loll:

I love the pinkies Bellis. And I always wanted a water feature. They add that something extra.

Very peaceful and tranquil. I bought one last year it was on a stand and was supposed to be sun activated. Everytime I passed it it stopped...:loll::loll:I returned the silly product.

My son was in Vegas for his birthday last year. Here is another fabulous water feature.:D

            I would die for such a feature.:loll::loll:

Saw the Bellagio Musical fountains in Vegas three years ago.
We went out of our way to vivsit the Botanical Gardens in Paris a couple of years ago but it was bare and the Palm House was closed for repair, a real let down.:(
