I have a buddleia, about a foot high I guess, that is growing out of a crevice in a low wall. I want to grow runner beans along that wall, and since I wanted a buddleia in the corner of the garden, can I pull it out and transplant it without killing it?

Good luck pulling it out, they develop huge great roots.

Your best bet is to take a few cuttings and pop them in either rooting compuound, then compost or those gel rooting pots. They will grow like wildfire if they're anything like the cuttings I took.

Then chop down and get as much root up as possible with the existing plant.

Aha! Fantastic, thanks. I had a go at pulling it out last night and all I succeeded in doing was pulling one wee branch off and somehow skewering it down my thumbnail - ouch!! So I'm taking my mum's secateurs tonight and removing it that way. I'm glad it sounds easy to regrow.
