    Hi all

I'm looking at creating a home that can be uses by the bugs when they're visiting my garden. I've seen a few things in the catalogues but would rather make one if I can.

Anyone have any ideas or pics or experience I can learn from please :)

They are one of the kids projects during the summer holidays. Using bamboo canes of differing diameter, cut them down to about 8 to 10 inches or so and they tie them together so they look a bit like a tree decoration gone horribly wrong and attach at the back of a bed-mine get tied into the lower branches of conifers, I bring them and stash them in the garage for the winter and bring them out in spring, alternatively you can wrap into a roll some of that corrugated cardboard packing you get and use that as a bug roll too.

Yes my thought exactly when I saw it being done on a thing with Bill Oddie in-those summer holidays can be very long indeed LOL. The only problem for me-I think my kids may have created a mini bug housing glut in the market LOL there are now an awful lot of them hiding out in the garage at the moment.

This summer they are making a little footpath through my "hedge"(or it will be one day) at the back for their own so they can explore. Trouble is my fourteen year old isn`t into that anymore.
