Bug!!

Not sure if this is in quite the right sub-forum...
But is someone able to identify this big fella and if it's harmful in any way? It's about 1" long

 

its a cockchafer also known as a May bug

i think they will eat their way through crops so they are not a friend

when i was removing my lawn for beds there was tons of their grubs underneath

I think there quite sweet really, you usually see them this time of year like ungainly flying tennis balls
