    hi,

Just got back from holiday and walking around the garden, came across a couple of plants (same type) with these little black bugs along with a fair few ants. Some of the little bugs are moving but the rest aren't.

I've attached a photo (click to view a bigger one) as I'm not sure what they are or how to get rid of them.

black fly aka Aphid the ants milk them like cows they produce sugary syrup from the bottoms and also protect them , if only a few just use your hand to remove them is best

looks like a chrysanthemum plant , very tasty to aphids

Brilliant, thank you both. I will go and manually remove then. Is it just a case of manually scraping them off?

just be gentle as you dont want to damage/crush the stem of the plant or you can wash them off with the hose pipe
