A friend has a laurel bush that has a significant number of leaves, which are partially black (mostly at the tips) - looks like a burnt appearance. I wasn't aware that Fireblight affected laurels, but am not sure what else this might be. The 'burnt' areas are not spots, so presumably not a Rust. I don't have a picture at the moment, but does anyone have any ideas - could this be some kind of hangover from last winter's snow or a late frost?
At the moment I've just suggested removing the leaves that are affected and then seeing if it comes back??

Darren, as you say, without a pic to go by it`s difficult to be certain, but I`d be inclined to agree with you and say it`s frost burn.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try and get hold of a picture (if they haven't removed all the affected leaves yet) and upload this.
