Well after the recent cold snap; around 10 days of continuous frosts to -9 here and one day of heavy snow, Mother Nature would be forgiven for taking a few days to get back in to the swing of things, but yesterday was nice and mild and the wildlife responded.....

...the birds were singing away like it was mid-spring, I saw bluetits actively investigating a couple of my bird boxes and a pair of wood pigeons actively investigating each other :WINK1: :D.

I even saw a couple of ladybirds and a solitary bee!!!, also noticed some greenfly on a plant in a sheltered part of the garden, could have done without them surviving the frosts but hey ho...

On the plant front, I found some lovely bright green new growth on a couple of Clematis, new growth on Roses, also found a small area of the hawthorn hedge with the very first signs of fresh green buds!!

It's almost as if we never even had the cold snap..

With frost forecast for Sunday, I'm hoping its not the beginning of another spell of frosty weather and just a one off...:love30: need to get things sorted in the veg patch over the next few days so its ready to go :dbgrtmb:

Very true Jack, we usually get frosts well in to April too, but they are for the most part light and occasional.

This morning I've just experiencing something wonderful; a dawn chorus from our feathered friends, well before dawn mind you :rolleyespink:, but they are singing their little heads off none the less..:D

Just been stood outside the back door and it is incredibly mild at 9.2 degrees, lovely..:dbgrtmb:
