well the weather here in the Midlands was warmer than last weekend so I cracked the whip again and we (hubby and I) finished digging up the turf where we are extending the borders. Back breaking job as we have no wheelbarrow so had to lug all the turf to various places by hand! Dug over the really clayey bits where the turf used to be and added loads of compost so hopefully this should improve things a bit. I actually felt that Spring was a coming yesterday! Backs aching today though!

Our day was a busy one too,but not a happy one!
Our daughter moved out and the day was spent lugging and trying to assemble flat packs.
Worst of all was coming home and going into her empty bedroom...have to admit we both sat in there and shed a few tears...silly old sods sods I know
Couldn't face going in to work today so I'm keeping the wife company and helping with the Childminding....probably regret that later on [IMG]
(really hoping daughter will pop in!)

Our day was a busy one or I should say my day,my youngest who is nine had some kind of a tummy bug and decided to share it with my husband as well,so I spent most of it mopping brows and other stuff I won't mention :( . I have your experience to come in September Paladin, my oldest who is nineteen is leaving home he is going to share a flat with his mate in Edinburgh,it's going to be a sad day I think.Although my hubby says he will give him a couple of months and he will be back.(with his dirty washing probably)

[IMG] The thing that matters most when your children leave home is that they are happy. I remember shedding a few tears when my daughter left home at 17 to become a nurse and felt even worse when my son left to move into his own house at 29 ( [IMG] ).

That was some time ago - as today Husband and I are celebrating our 52nd Wedding Anniversary - something I would be more happy about if I could stay 39 years old! :D

My poor mum had to deal with this on and off for years! I left at 16, two years later my sis left too at 16, but I was back for a short spell, left again at 20, by which time my sis was back, then I was back 2 years later but my sis and I left together a year later! Bad timing as at the time my mum also had some sort of mental problem and my dad tried to persuade us to stay.
Well, that one lasted for about 3 years again and then I was off for a summer in Scotland - probably the one where my mum really believed I would be back soon. And that's now almost exactly eight years ago, and I am still here. But at least my sister is living again with my parents and is unlikely to leave any time before my parents die, as my mum won't let her go again! I was just the lucky one who ran away first :D - now she has to sit it out!

I remember a friend who's three children all left home in their late teens/early twenties and all within the same week! She sobbed and sobbed on my shoulder for quite a few days (I was her boss at the time!!!) even though she'd been keen to get rid before. But then, about six months later they all moved back in again and pretty soon she was wishing them all away again!

    Parents!

Happy aniversary JJordie!!!!! We celebrate a "landmark" one in 3 weeks time..... I still insist I married at 16!!! ;) ;)

and as for my parents, all us 3 sisters moved out within 3 years - me being youngest left last. As soon as I was gone, the house was up on the market, and they bought a small bungalow!! My 2 sisters did move back in temporarily, but couldn't cope with no space and sharing a bedroom!!! Mum and Dad have never looked back!! (or so relaxed!! ;) ) .... oh, dear, that was 22 years ago
