I have a container garden, i.e. a large terrace with pots, tubs, urns, etc.....
This morning I ended up with vast quantities of planting to do, more than I could cope with in one morning in fact!
The background to this is that for about 2 weeks I have been suffering from severe backache, and could hardly walk, let alone garden!! Fortunately, I am recovering, as yesterday I had
    (a) Morning Glory (5 plug plants)
    (b) One lot of petunias (also plug plants)
    (c) 5 violas
    (d) chilli peppers (plug plants)

delivered (I buy most of my plants by mail order). But I was in such pain from the backache that I took a painkiller and slept most of the afternoon, only waking when it was too dark to go into the garden!!

So I started this morning, and just as I was starting to plant the Morning Glory, the caretaker arrived with two more deliveries that a courier had dumped in the hallway, without bothering to notify anyone! These were
    (a) tomatoes and peppers
    (b) another lot of petunias.

THEN - another courier arrived with my herb plants from Jekka's, which I only ordered about 3 days ago! Efficient, or what??!!

I planted the tomatoes with the Calendula and Nasturtiums from Jekka - I believe in trying Companion Planting.
But some of the plants I just had to leave in their containers and water them, ready for planting this weekend!

Leonora hope you take things nice and easy darling as backache and gardening don't mix well at the best of times. Good luck with all your potting on and may you be rewarded 10 times over for all your aches and pains with plenty of Toms, peppers and flowers etc.Hel.xxx.

Another busy day today - the backache is fortunately a lot better!
I've now planted all the petunias, and the mints and Heartsease from Jekka....

Now I realise, at the moment there are considerably more flowers than veg, which is NOT GOOD for someone in my precarious financial position!! BUT all the veg seeds are in the shed, waiting to be planted - trying Sweetcorn for the first time this year!
Going to be busy over the Bank Holiday weekend.
