Butterflies on holiday

    Well here are a few photos of butterflies on holiday recently.

    See if any of you can ID any of them. I know a couple of them, one being the hardest to photo. I'll number them to help

    I have really never been so close to so many butterflies. It was awesome. Amazingly well kept. I'll even post the chrysalis phase photos if people ask nicely :D [​IMG]

    I think no2 is an Atlas moth, no7 I have seen before probably in a butterfly house and can't remember it's name but I know it is on a Calliandra (powder puff bush). [​IMG]

    Difficult to recognise some with the folded wings, here goes,
    1. Heliconius burnoyi
    2. Atlas moth
    3. Heliconius charitonia (long winged b/fly)
    4. Cithaerias haetera (one of the clearwings)
    5. Dryas julia (known as julia longwing)
    6. ?
    7. Heliconius doris (another long wing)
    8. Owl butterfly
    9. Morpho didus or maybe menelus

    Yep thats one that i already new, on an info sheet there.

    Is that latin for something like Lace wing? (thats what they told us it was, but then probably just difference of translation).

    N G as far as I know Cithaerias haetera translates to clear or glass wings.
