    Hello everyone,

This is the first year I have tried butternut squash. The plants are really going for it but none of them have any flowers yet. I have been watering regularly and feeding every couple of weeks.

I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne so I am wondering if it is just not warm enough up here.

Will the flowers come later or should I give in and cut them back? (They're taking over the garden a little bit!)

    Thanks for your help.

They quite often don't come until August if the weather isn't good enough. If they are getting in the way then you can train them to go where you want by putting short canes in the ground that force them to curve round. Some people train them in a spiral pattern. Once they do produce fruit they can grow quite quickly. :dbgrtmb:
