Is it too late to sow seeds now for fruit this year?

No, there is still time. The seeds should germinate in a few days. If you can bring them on in a greenhouse for a couple of weeks they will get a good start and then protect them from slugs when you plant them out (preferably in well manured ground). Once they are out there you need to give them plenty of water and they will grow like mad. When they get their first flowers you can give them an occasional feed.

    Good luck :thumb: :)

Thanks shiney - I had read they should be sown by April to ensure the fruits have time to ripe. I have a mini greenhouse and will keep them in there as long as poss - goodness know's where I am going to put them - I keep telling my husband he will have to give up his drive for veg beds! :) . Can I use the seeds from a supermarket bought one? I guess I'd have no idea if they were F1 or not?

oooh last thing - I am making the assumption I can grow them in pots? I know they will be huge plants but will the roots get enough room in a pot?
